Head of R&D for AHDB Potatoes
Mike Storey is Head of Research and Development for the potatoes division of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB). He is responsible for working with industry stakeholders, government sponsor departments and other AHDB divisions to identify research priorities and develop strategy; and the commissioning, management and delivery of applied research to address GB potato levy payer needs.
Mike obtained degrees from Newcastle and Leeds Universities where he carried out research on Potato Cyst Nematode control. Subsequently he has been involved with variety evaluation, crop production, plant health, storage management and knowledge transfer. He currently represents levy payers and AHDB on many technical groups, including Stewardship initiatives, SARIC, Red Tractor Assurance, UK Plant Health Advisory Forum and the UK Pesticides Forum.
